Wire Weaving - Tree of Life Pendant

Worked on my wire working/jewellery skills today:

This is what it looked like at the start.

I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

Crochet - The Cast Iron Dragon's Scales

I began this project when Joie was in the hospital with ketoacidosis because she just could NOT get warm no matter how many hospital "blankets" I piled on her. Chose the crocodile stitch because it was something I had never done before but it turned out to be both labour and materiel intensive and took two months of working on it daily to complete.
The "Dragon" modelling her new scale shawl.

Since J's nickname back when I met her was the "Cast Iron Dragon", I joked with her while working on it that she was finally going to get her scales.

Started with the bobwilson123 how-to video and then just kind of winged it to add a back post single crochet collar and lapels to create an enclosing garment that hugs the wearer rather than a flat triangle that needs to be fought with to keep on the shoulders.
A back view which does some credit to the
lovely Royal Blue colour of the yarn.

Then added the buttons (chosen specifically for high visibility to failing eyes) and a loop to hold the front closed.

It's like wearing a thermal blanket.
This image does not justice to the colour
but it does show the weave of the scales.

I have some ideas for an improved version, but I'm not going to be doing this again for a while.
Need a bit of a break from the crocodile stitch. ^_^
